SIR BOBBY CHARLTON - Sir Robert "Bobby" Charlton CBE is one of the world's most renowned former professional English football players and was a pivotal member of the England team who won the FIFA World Cup in 1966, when he also won the Ballon d'Or European Footballer of the Year award.
Sir Bobby became involved with Spirit of Soccer through his position as a Laureus Ambassador. He visited our program in Bosnia in 1995 and in Cambodia in 2007 and has been instrumental in getting us access to superstars from Manchester United for use in our MRE material. His passion for helping prevent children being killed or maimed by landmines has led Sir Bobby to found his own charity called Find A Better Way.
Spirit of Soccer is extremely appreciative of Sir Bobby's passion for our cause and all the support he has given us over the years.
ARSENAL FC - Arsenal Football Club is a professional English Premier League football club based in North London. Arsenal were our initial partner for our MRE program in Bosnia in 1996 and since then have assisted us by providing player images for us to use in MRE materials.
AUTONOMI FILMS - AUToNOMi Films have been documenting Spirit of Soccer since 1996 in Bosnia, Kosovo, Cambodia, Moldova and Iraq. They have released two documentaries on Spirit of Soccer on Channel 4 in the UK and plan to release a final film at the end of 2012.
MANCHESTER UNITED FC - Manchester United is an English professional football club, based in Manchester, England, that perennially finishes at the top of the tables in the Premier League. Manchester United has supported Spirit of Soccer since 2006 by providing access to player images for us to use in our MRE material, thanks largely to the efforts of Sir Bobby Charlton.
CHALLENGER SPORTS - Challenger Sports is a North American based sports organization that provides summer soccer camps, holiday camps, clinics, tours, tournaments and uniforms to thousands of clubs nationwide. Challenger Sports really is the "Total Soccer Company." Challenger Sports has been a supporter of Spirit of Soccer since visiting our program in Bosnia in 1997 and has provided valuable technical assistance in helping us to develop youth development coaching curricula.
DAVID BUTLER - David Butler has been a devoted supporter of Spirit of Soccer's mission to save lives for several years. Mr. Butler is an English former football striker who played professionally in England, the North American Soccer League and Major Indoor Soccer League. At 16 years old, began his career with West Bromwich Albion before moving to Shrewsbury Town in 1973. In 1974, Shrewsbury Town released Butler. Later that year, he received an offer to play for the Seattle Sounders of the North American Soccer League. Over the next 10 years, Mr. Butler stamped his mark on soccer in North America, playing for teams in the professional outdoor and indoor leagues.
GLOBAL RADIO NEWS - GRN, also known as Global Radio News, is the world's first ad hoc professional freelance news agency, delivering live coverage to broadcasters globally. GRN was founded by Henry Peirse, who, after covering the Bosnian war as a freelancer throughout the 1990's, saw the opportunity to set up a management service for journalists in the field. GRN has been a partner with Spirit of Soccer since 1996.
BARCLAYS BANK - Barclays Spaces for Sports is a global program bringing sustainable sports sites and projects to disadvantaged communities. Barclays Spaces for Sports recognizes the power of sport to deliver social change and has supported Spirit of Soccer since 2010 by helping us get access to player images for use in our MRE materials.
