US DEPT. OF STATE - PMWRA - Since 2003 the US government has been Spirit of Soccer's major funder through the Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement (PMWRA) and currently funds our programs in Iraq, Cambodia and Laos. Landmines can be found in over 60 countries around the world and the US government is helping to make the world safe from these threats. The Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement encourages non-government organizations, civic associations, philanthropic foundations, educational institutions and corporations to lend their creative, energy and talents to this worthy objective. PMWRA works in partnership with organizations around the world to alleviate the harmful impact of persistent landmines, unexploded and abandoned ordnance, and small arms/light weapons.
LAUREUS SPORT FOR GOOD FOUNDATION - The Laureus Sport for Good Foundation was founded in 2000 by Daimier and Richemont and is supported by its Global Partners Mercedes-Benz, IWC Schaffhausen and Vodafone. It celebrates the universal power of sport to bring people together as a force for good and uses the passion that sport inspires to effect social change across the globe. Laureus funds over 65 projects on six continents. Laureus has supported Spirit of Soccer since 2004 and is currently funding our programs in Iraq and Cambodia.
FIFA - FIFA's Corporate Social Responsibility arm, Football for Hope, supports programs all over the world that combine soccer and social development. This includes funding and equipment, as well as projects that offer training, capacity building and know-how exchange on topics such as monitoring and evaluation, curriculum development and communications. Football for Hope has supported more than 100 programs in over 50 countries and has funded Spirit of Soccer since 2006.
US EMBASSY PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA - The US Embassy to Cambodia is based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, the largest city in Cambodia with a population of approximately two million. Through the Political-Economic Section of the US Embassy Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Spirit of Soccer has received funds for our Sport Diplomacy Program. The project aims to engage at-risk youth through sports to promote peace and security in Cambodia.
UNITED STATES PACIFIC COMMAND - PACOM - PACOM promotes regional security and strengthens existing Alliances and leverages them to shape the environment for building multilateral relationships and a more effective presence in the Asia-Pacific region. PACOM supports programs in conjunction with the Department of State and has been funding the Sport Diplomacy Program in Cambodia since 2011.
BRITISH EMBASSY / MOLDOVA - The British Embassy in Moldova is based in Chisinau and promotes activities in support of Moldova's economic development and democratization efforts. The British Embassy in Chisinau has supported Spirit of Soccer since 2008 to promote ethnic tolerance through coaching programs and soccer camps.
US EMBASSY CHISINAU, MOLDOVA - The US Embassy based in Chisinau, Moldova develops relations with Moldova through contacts with Moldovan government, business, labor, agriculture, media and education leaders. The US Embassy in Chisinau supports Spirit of Soccer to promote trust, understanding and contacts among young people from both sides of the Nistru river.
